Yutaka Hirasaka & Yusuke Kurahara – yhyk

We are thrilled to announce the release of “yhyk,” an album produced by Yutaka Hirasaka in collaboration with bassist Yusuke Kurahara. In the summer of 2023, they traveled to Kumamoto, a city in Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost island. Yutaka and Yusuke stayed in a mountain lodge in a remote village, surrounded by nature. They spent their days intensely focused on making music, sometimes working through the night.

When winter came, they relocated to the second floor of a store run by a local farmer. Yutaka crafted the frameworks of the songs with Yusuke adding his distinctive bass performances. Yusuke’s free and creative playing style is a highlight of the album.

The album artwork was created by illustrator Yuichi Date. His intricate and captivating illustration turned this tape into a must-have for every collector who values design and art.
